Earlier this year, Luna once again hit the stage at New York City's Don’t Tell Mama in a super stacked line-up featuring fellow Broadway Artists Alliance performers. She completed her run as Cinderella in her home theater's production of Into The Woods, played Marian Paroo in her school's production of The Music Man, and appeared on an Off-Broadway stage for the first time as an apathetic teenager who thinks Romeo and Juliet is overrated.
She’s spent the time since intentionally honing her craft: doing some training with her friends at Broadway Artists Alliance and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s Youth Musical Theater Summer Program, plus studying screen acting technique (including with the same CD who worked some of her all-time favorite shows).
Luna is in the early stages of producing her own show (with super exciting updates to follow). She’ll be returning to a dance studio for the first time in years this fall (ballet bun up, tap shoes polished). And she’ll be back on the Grand Stage at Radio City Music Hall this winter, where - alongside her fellow Spotlight Kidz performers - she’ll open for the Rockettes as part of Radio City's "Sounds of Christmas" program.
When she's not schooling or rehearsing, you can find Luna playing field hockey just for fun, fan-girling at stage doors, taste-testing from NYC restaurants, hanging out with her friends, or making covers on her Insta @lunabkus. A real "character."
Luna has been performing with her local theater company since the summer before first grade (absent a break for a global pandemic). She loves a "character" and brings her own to every role. And while she rocks the quirky, smart girls who remind her a little more of herself IRL, i.e. Patrice in 13 or Kayla in Eighth Grade), her favorite roles have been the ones that allow her to explore very different types and exercise her excellent comedic timing (from clowns like Patrick Star in SpongeBob) to mischief-makers and baddies (Matilda's Hortensia or the diabolical Ursula the Sea Witch). Her dream role is Mean Girls' Regina George: a part she got to try on this past summer while attending a masterclass in character study.
Voice is her instrument.
Adaptive voice with a big range. Soprano with belt (legit to F6, mix-belt to F5, low to F3).
Every floor is a dance floor.
Like nobody's watching.
Luna's first experience performing on a big stage was as a tiny dancer at her local dance studio, where she studied ballet, tap, and jazz, followed by lots of years in a Broadway dance class with a local theater company, which is where she realized how much she missed doing lots of dancing. These days, she's back to a dance studio for multiple classes in her favorite (and not to favorite but important) styles! She tackles new routines and choreo hard.
